Getting started
SnowstormBot is a hosted Discord bot with a web dashboard at snowstormbot.net. You sign in with Discord, invite the bot to a server you own, turn on the features you want, and configure them from the dashboard. There is nothing to install or host yourself.
What you can do
Once the bot is in your server, you can:
- Reward activity with XP and levels, with level-up announcements, role rewards, and a leaderboard.
- Keep moderation records: warnings members can see, and private notes only your mods can see.
- Build automations that react to joins, leaves, role changes, bans, and trigger words.
- Create custom slash commands, from a simple text reply to a multi-step sequence of actions.
- Post content feeds from YouTube, Twitch, Kick, GitHub, and any RSS or Atom source into a channel, with real-time go-live alerts.
- Send messages now or on a schedule as the bot.
- Run recurring jobs like channel cleanups and a weekly activity reward.
The three steps
- Sign in at snowstormbot.net with your Discord account.
- Invite the bot to a server you own.
- Turn on the features you want and configure each one.
A few things to know
- You configure per server. Almost every page works on one server at a time. You pick the active server from the dropdown in the sidebar. See Touring the dashboard.
- Only the owner invites the bot. You can invite SnowstormBot to servers you own. You can also hand limited dashboard access to a role so trusted members can help manage a server without owning it.
- Most features are on by default; a couple are off. XP and Message logging start switched off because they react to activity, so you opt in when you want them. See Turning features on & off.
