Signing in

SnowstormBot uses your Discord account to sign in. There is no separate password to create.

How to sign in

  1. Go to snowstormbot.net.
  2. Click Sign in with Discord.
  3. Discord shows you what SnowstormBot is asking for (see below). Click Authorize.
  4. You are returned to the page you signed in from, signed in. For example, if you sign in while looking at the plans page, you land back on the plans page.

On a phone, the Sign in with Discord button and the Plans link are in the menu behind the menu icon at the top left.

What SnowstormBot asks for

When you sign in, Discord asks you to approve a short list of permissions. These let the dashboard work; they do not let the bot act in your servers on their own (that happens separately when you invite the bot).

RequestedWhy
IdentityTo know who you are and show your name and avatar.
Your serversTo list the servers you are in, so you can see where the bot is installed and which servers you can invite it to.
EmailOptional. Used only for account and support purposes. If you do not share it, the dashboard simply shows "(not provided)".

You can review everything stored about your account, including your Discord ID and email, on your profile page.

Accepting the Terms and Privacy Policy

When you sign in, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. We keep a record of the version you accepted and when.

Every so often we update these documents. When that happens, the next time you open the dashboard you will see a short pop-up asking you to review the new version and accept it. Until you accept, you can still read the policies, manage your servers, and delete your account, but the rest of the dashboard is paused. If a server you own has the bot, its #snowstormbot-logs channel also gets a heads-up that the policies changed and need reviewing.

Accepting is a single click. You only see the pop-up again the next time the documents actually change.

Signing out

Use the menu in the top bar to sign out. Signing out only ends your dashboard session on this device. It does not remove the bot from any server.

If you signed in somewhere you no longer trust, or just want to be safe, you can sign out of every device at once from your profile page. See Signing out everywhere.

Trouble signing in?

  • If the page bounces back to the login screen, make sure your browser allows cookies for snowstormbot.net.
  • If you recently changed your Discord email or username, sign out and back in so the dashboard picks up the change.
  • See Troubleshooting for more.

Next: Invite the bot to your server.
