Touring the dashboard

The dashboard at snowstormbot.net is where you configure everything. This page explains the parts you will use most.

Picking the active server

Almost every page (Features, XP, Moderation, Automations, Commands, Feeds, Send message, Scheduled jobs) works on one server at a time. You choose which server is "active" from the server dropdown in the sidebar.

  1. Click the server name at the top of the sidebar (it reads Select a server until you pick one).
  2. Choose a server from the list. Only servers where the bot is installed and you have access appear here.
  3. The page reloads with that server as the active context. Every per-server page now shows and edits that server's settings.

You can Clear selection from the same menu to deselect. Your choice is remembered between visits.

The dropdown also shows small badges:

  • Suspended: the bot is paused on that server because it is over a plan limit. See Plans & limits.
  • Managed: you do not own that server but have been given delegated access to help manage it.

The sidebar

The sidebar lists the pages available for the active server. A feature only appears in the sidebar when its feature is turned on. If you do not see a feature you expected (for example XP or the Leaderboard), it is probably switched off; open Features to turn it on.

To keep a long list scannable, the feature pages are sorted into expandable groups. The three entries you reach for most (Servers, Features, and Access control) stay pinned at the top, Audit log and Notifications sit at the bottom, and everything else lives under a group you can expand or collapse. The group holding the page you are on opens automatically, so the active page is never hidden.

The groups are:

The pinned and bottom entries:

  • Servers: invite, remove, and manage the bot per server.
  • Features: turn features on or off for the active server.
  • Access control: nominate a manager role.
  • Audit log: a record of changes made on the active server.
  • Notifications: your in-app notifications, such as finished exports.

Your account settings (time zone, notification preferences) live under Profile, reachable from your avatar in the top bar.

Server status at a glance

On the Servers page each installed server shows a status chip:

ChipMeaning
Bot installedHealthy. The bot is active and its logs channel is set up.
Setting up...The bot just joined and is finishing its first-time setup.
Logs channel missing / Needs Manage Channels / Can't post in logs channelThe bot cannot maintain its #snowstormbot-logs channel. See Bot setup & server status.
SuspendedOver a plan limit; paused until you resolve it.
Leaving...The bot is processing your removal request.

Who can change what

  • You (the owner) can do everything on a server you own, including turning features on and off and inviting or removing the bot.
  • Delegated managers (members holding a manager role you nominate) can use most feature pages, but cannot toggle features, invite or remove the bot, or change delegation. They see a Managed badge.
